Especially False Bay presents an amazing view over Table Mountain to the Cape of Good Hope. Nearly all sunsets in this windblown region are overwhelming and most exciting. The cloud sequel of 2009 renders my impressions of this amazing spectacle.

East of Cape Town, near False Bay, is Helderberg, a southern foothill of the Stellenboschberge. This mountain massif is an endless reservoir of inspiration, that needs to be sketched and painted through all hours of the day and all seasons. Helderberg, the "clear mountain", demands to be explored, like Disa Gorge or Stellenboschkloof and the Fynbos regions.

A fascinating impression is the view of the constantly changing mountain face of the Hottentots-Holland Mountains up to Somerset-Sneeukop. The clouds coming from Lebanon mountains tumble over this barrier like never ending cascades.
The Drakensberg mountain massif in Natal Drakensberg Park, east of Lesotho, is crossed by many trails that lead to the Giants Castle massif as well as to numerous caves covered with Bushman paintings.
